Our Purpose

  • Unify all areas of occupational and technical education at the post-secondary level through a statewide professional organization.


  • Promote interest in and concern for occupational and technical education as an integral part of the mission of community and technical colleges.


  • Sponsor appropriate in-service training opportunities to members.


  • Disseminate information about the purposes, needs and accomplishments of occupational-technical education in the state to local, state and national legislators.


  • Promote cooperation among educational institutions, agencies, organizations and associations on matters of mutual concern pertaining to occupational-technical education.


  • Communicate information about issues related to occupational and technical education to WAOE members, the general public and other constituent groups.


  • Provide opportunities for members to contribute to local, state and national leadership in occupational and technical education through participation in association activities.


  • Offer the association as a vehicle for contributing to research about occupational and technical education which could have statewide, regional or national significance.
