Welcome to WAOE from your Board President

The new year (2008-2009) is going to be an exciting year for WAOE and its members. There will be our conference March 5th &6th , 2009 in Vancouver. Vancouver has a great conference center with plenty of room for our many workshops. This year we are planning to dazzle you with workshops, speakers, and good fun. In May we are having Washington state Reception" to thank the state workers for their support of community and technical educations.

Many groups will be applying for a grant to hold a work-a-like session. Your group can request up to $1000 to meet and discuss issues particular to your field. We also provide grants to instructors for professional development. See your college's rep for details.

Each year we award $500 to two faculty members nominated and selected as "outstanding instructors.".

Please join us this year and try out our new online services for work-a-likes.

Welcome returning members and new members to a new and improved WAOE. We look forward to seeing you at our conference.
